We just got home from Atlanta (about a 7-hour drive). Sadly, I have band camp tomorrow... I'm not ready to go back yet! I just wish I could have another day of remembering the concert before I have to focus on marching music. Oh well, I must look at the big picture, I suppose.

And because of this concert, I'm back into reading Paul McCartney: Many Years From Now again.  :)

What Makes Jate Great, Part 4: Epic

If I had to choose one word to describe Jate, it would be, without a doubt, "epic." If you think about it, they are truly the ultimate relationship. Boy meets girl and they fall in love, but it's so much more simple and yet so much more complicated than Friends or Grey's Anatomy or Dawson's Creek. Because it's not just their everyday lives that influence their relationship, but their destinies. Their destinies that have been rooted in the island since before they even knew about it. The other three elements of their relationship (Team Jate, fluffiness and jangst) are what make them epic.

What Makes Jate Great, Part 3: Jangst

One of the hallmarks of Jaters is really how much angst we can stand, because hey, Jate brings the angst. In our shipping vocabulary, we call it “jangst” because it’s so unique to our couple. The angst can come from anything: themselves and their own actions, or from other Losties who can’t seem to leave them alone. It can stem from worry for the other one, or from anger, and especially when one of them is being stubborn (which happens only every other episode!) In the end however, they always get over it and return to being light and flirty Team Jate again. ♥

Jack and Kate are at their happiest when they are getting along. They’ve had so many cute moments, moments when their feelings for one another are plainly showcased – it’s a wonder some people still think they won’t end up together. When one of them smiles, the other will almost always smile back. They make each other so happy.

This was an idea I had a week or two ago, and it’s taken a while to go through all the episodes and pick out these moments, but it was worth it, since it’s Jate!

I’ve tried to “scientifically” break down why Jate is such an amazing ship, and I have found the reasons are:
1. They work well as a team
2. They have light, flirty moments
3. … But they also have heavy, “jangsty” moments
4. They are the definition of epic.

So, to celebrate tonight’s episode “Follow the Leader,” here is a picspam about Team Jate. (the other three picspam topics will be coming soon)

Jack and Kate could exist perfectly just as partners. They balance each other out and they are always willing to help one another. Since day one, they've had each others' backs, and though another ship has basically stolen the saying from them, it doesn't matter - Team Jate has been and always will be one of the best things about Lost.

After Carrie's Epic Jate Picspam of Doom, mine may not seem like much... but this is my absolute favorite Jate scene and since the one year anniversary is coming up in a few weeks (wow, has it really been a year?), this is only the first part of my SNBH celebration! :D

This scene never fails to make me cry... but definitely in a good way. JIF!

Note: I know the image quality still isn't up-to-par; I'm trying new ways to make them look better but hopefully I'll get Photoshop Elements for my birthday *crosses fingers*, and that should alleviate many of the problems.

It's becoming an addiction, I tell you. This was created for picspammy  and it's my first submission.

This is my favorite scene from the fourth season finale of Lost - I love it not only because we get two cute Jate moments, but it's also nice to have a bunch of my favorite characters reunite after having been apart for most of the season. Oh and of course, it's the moment they finally leave the island!!!
